How to watch AI's battle?

How do I go into SC FA skirmish and setup 2 AIs to fight each other (or 3-4 AIs) and just have myself as observer? I'd like to just watch the fight.



Do I have to spawn in a commander and set an AI to be my ally and run into his base to protect my commander? Or maybe ctrl k?|||I first went to look for a thread that was for the same topic, but unbelievably I couldn't find one!



To start an AI only game, start a multiple player game, select the map, AI and options you want and then set yourself as an observer (click the "Observe" button in the middle). Now launch the game.



Make sure you install some AI mods first |||You'll probably want to speed up the game too otherwise you'll die of boredom



bring up the console and type:

setfocusarmy 0



you can now use the ± buttons to speed up the game



to go back to true observer mode:

setfocusarmy -1



You can switch to any side during the game using setfocusarmy and the correct number.



player numbers range from 0 - 7, with -1 being observer.|||There's an even better way to change your game speed, type:

WLD_GameSpeed +10

This will put the game speed at +10.



To see the actual game speed an other stats, type:

ren_ShowNetworkStats



It's also possible to watch an AI vs AI using normal skirmish mode and killing your commander (ctrl-k) at the start of the match.|||It's also-also possible to observe an AI only match in skirmish by selecting a map with 8 slots, sticking yourself in the 8th slot, and then switching to a map with fewer slots. |||My tip of the day:



In Mutliplayer AI vs AI matches, when you're observer and when cheats are enabled : hit ALT+F2 the double left click on one of the AI names in the cheat panel, so you should watch the game as if you were the AI player. Moreover, you can control its units ! |||Manimal|||WLD_GameSpeed 10

Sometimes I like to ally myself with one of the AI's and just move my commander into it's base a lend a helping hand. I don't build anything, just me and my commander. You can even get free upgrades too if you move your comm next to a Hive or Kennel.|||duncane|||duncane
