On im new to creating new models or even editing them, i need some help if any one has the time, the unit i need help with is Cybrans Tactical Missile Defense Zapper in fa it had a green orb well in SC2 it will not work 1 because the shader is not longer there, so i edited it in max added a orb that can spin if i wish it to it shows up in game fine, the problem im lost in is how do i make a new texture map for the new add mesh?|||Well clearly it depends on what 3D software you are using, as they have different takes on the same thing. But basically you will have to apply a UVW Unwrap on your mesh so you get into the UV editor to cluster and place the faces as you like.
If the object is spherical, the software may also allow you to map directly the best possible cluster for a sphere on it. Check any helps and tutorials for the software you are using.
