I've just tooled around in 3dsmax and imported some models and was wondering where I can find info on how to animate models? Right now I just want to get the basics down so I'll probably stick to turrent firing of the T1 medium tank. I also noticed that the tank uses way too many poly's for things that are never visible due to the fact that the unit scale is small and the zoom level for normal play makes the use of all those poly's for the tank a waste.
Can someone help me out or make a basic tut/video with some samples files?|||there's no animations on tanks; weapon recoil is done by script.|||BulletMagnet|||to the best of my knowledge; all of them.
the only animations are things unfolding when upgrading or building, walking, and mass extractors.|||Recoil is Handled via Script.
Turrets are Handled via Script.
Treads/Tank Tracks/whatever are Handled via Textures. LINK
As far as the level of detailing goes, I'm very glad then are well detailed and thoughtfully designed, it allows us modders to really to all out on our units and lets people make awesome stuff like this;
