Has anyonenoticed AI's "stop"

Has anyone noticed AI's tend to stop expnading there base once a certain point is reached?

They'll reuild if you destroy it, but wont build past it.

Is there some form of artificial limit on where the AI will build structures, and if so, i there an AI with a much expanded limit?

Finaly, does any of that make sense|||Only on smaller maps ive seen this and i thin that is amore of a map limitation seing as you have to place AI markers where to build expansion bases extra defence and experimentals etc.

Never on the 20x20 have I seen an AI struggle to expand beyond there start point especially with Sorians standard AI which has ben catered to 20x20 or larger maps.

But if you do have any replays of AI's completely seezing up then let ppl know via a replay.|||Oh and yes ur question makes sence.|||Yes, the AIs do this all the time. Build for a bit and then seize up. Normally with loads of units in their base, loads of troop transport aircraft etc. You can pretty much garantee this will happen on any map with water in it.

Basically the shipping AIs are broken for anything other than a 10x10 duel or something like that. Hopefully Sorian can sort out an AI that works.|||It's a limitation of the map, not the AI in my experience - if there's not enough expansion markers then the AI's base will seize up. The AI is very dependant on map markers, so if they're placed badly or if there just aren't enough then the AI will tend to seize up or behave stupidly.

Islands can cause issues with expansion (at least with vanilla - not played ai's enough on FA yet to guage a difference), as the island markers can confuse the AI.|||I've seen AI's crippled.

An AI base which has had all/most of its power plants destroyed will not replace them first, instead if it has teched up it will try to build T2 and T3 mass extractors and replace other buildings, and with no power, it takes forever. I have seen them stall for hours at this stage and never recover...
