OMFG What a difference!

I finally got round to downloading Sorians (I'll try yours too Duncane later ) and was utterly amazed byt her difference. Now I can play an 8 player AI free for all on Betrayal Ocean without the game being unplayable 20 mins in. I barely notice any slowdown unti about 2 hours of game, and even then it's only -1/2 at the most!



Just wanted to say, well done!|||Isn't it great?|||It is !





Looking forwards to the strategy manager. I have my fingers crossed that some of the talented coders on this site can take advantage of.



Wondering if individual units being worked on by the community can be added in game and have the AI build them for strategies ?|||How are you getting no slow downs? I have a Intel core 2 extreme QX9650 OC to 4ghz and I get to -1 about 45 mins in.|||Killers|||Specs:

OS: Vista 64 bit

GPU: 9800GX2 x2 Quad SLI

If so, you're actually bound to the lowest sim speed of all people playing.



during the game type in ren_shownetworkstats and see what kind of speeds everyone else is getting.





As far as maps are concerned, Just about anything other than Seton's will get you better performance, I'd probably recommend The Ditch if you're doing 3 vs 2, Kazam (Custom map) is pretty good with the AI, White Fire isn't bad with the Sorian water AI.|||Yea I know about lowest sim speed stuff. I was just taking mine from my max sim speed.|||Killers,



A couple of things... What is your simspeed without any Ai mods installed after 45 mins on setons?



Also while it might hit -1 in it generally doesnt go much below that and I find that to be quite playable (even at -2, -3). I admit that its annoying if are try to watch AI vs AI games, but for a human a sim of -1 should be okay?



Let me know your thoughts... others have disagreed with me |||duncane|||I find if I have dont have ren_shownetworks stats on I dont notice if it hits -1. I do start to notice at -2 and at -3 it starts to become annoying.



-1 simspeed isnt half speed. I think -3/-4 is half speed isnt it?. So at -3 its 1 hour for 2 hours. To get to 1 hour for 4 hours I think you have to be at -6 which I havent seen it hit for a while. Generally most games I play hover around +1/-1 so I find that quite playable.



Also Wizzkidy, try the latest Sorian release and my AI fix pack 2.0... simspeed seems a bit better again.
