[:1]Hi,
In some other games, I found the AI too weak and instead of directly modifying it (it can be some hard scripts and development), I changed some units statistics and game rules to give humans a hard time to handle them. So AI was the same but was more competent to handle some things than humans. I'm thinking of Company of Heroes, where the simple fact of reducing HP units force the player to react immediately, while AI had eyes everywhere.
Is there something possible in Supreme Commander to have this better AI ? I'm playing with cheating AI, with a value of 1.3, but beyond this value, it becomes nonsense, where the AI have T3 units even before I can build four T2 factories. I don't think it's an enjoyable difficulty (and I understand those who disagree).
Thanks, for answering this vague question in a vague english :)|||Try out Sorians AI =p Its alot better then the stock AI.|||I'm playing with Cheated Sorian's AI ^^|||Joubarbe|||If you know how to mod, try making changes to how the AI plays. I'm sure it's possible for FA because it is for SC2 and they practically have the same engine.
I couldn't tell you were to look though, as i have never played FA, but i am familiar with SC2, so if the file structure is similar then you might wanna look in lua/AI/skirmish/platoontemplates.
There should be a list between air, naval, land and structures. Make sure your looking at the uncompiled copy's though as to not be confronted with gibberish. If this doesn't help, try looking in the mod dev's forums.|||The AI seems to do much better on some maps than it does on others.
However a cheating difficulty of 1.3 shouldnt be too much for you.
I dont think we play anything less than 1.6 (Normally we play 1.8-2.0)
I think the problem your having is your gameplay style.
It sounds like your teching all your factories up, 1-by-1 and 1 level at a time.
(You said 4 x T2 factories).
I think you would be better off with 3-4 T1 factories churning out units and then take one to T2 get a few engineers and then upgrade it to T3.
You should be able to get 1 factory to T3 before you get 4 factories to T2.
Some people much smarter than me here could probably give you the math that proves that point.|||Hi,
playing too, against Sorian and Duncan improved AIs (cheating with 1.9).
The AI is nice and it "would" most time a hard fight - but in 80% the AI decides
to move with here ACU out of the safe base - and so i kill him ........
This is a little Boring :\

R-TEAM|||I would start with posting in the AI forums for AI related Questions.
Thread Moved to the AI modding Forum.
Mike|||RxTEAM : this is what I'm talking about :) With a cheating value of 1.8 / 2.0, the game has no interest because you will win with T2 while AI has T3. In fact, instead of improving the AI, I'm trying to make the game more difficult for the human player.
EDIT : and I did not want to post in the AI forum because this is not really about AI itself.|||Is there a way to make AI's units stronger ? Make them having other characteristics than the player's units ?|||Sure, you can mod the game so that AI units receive buffs.|||I must have missed that in your guide. Could you point me a post where it is explained, please O merciful god of AI ? :)
In fact, there is maybe a simple function, to change a specific characteristic for all AI's units ? I don't know if it'd be better than the cheating options but I'd like to try.
