A.I. Killer A.I.

Have you considered making an AI specifically for fighting AI's?

Since the AI's are usually predictable there should be some simple counters to most of their moves that another AI could use against them.|||Sorian AI is currently undergoing in an experimental Strategy Manager, which will check the opponents weaknesses and act on that. Currently it only works on small parts, such as "Enemy has few ASF's, creating loads of bombers".

I can say with great certainty that this offers a lot of potential for upcoming strategies for Sorian AI.

As far as I know, Sorian AI PRE 1.3 pretty much annihilates any AI right now.|||To be honest a big chunk of my testing of the AIs is done against other AI types.

AIs are very good all rounders so the only way they are generally beaten is by a good special strategy or better mirco of units.

And as GM1XXA said Sorian has added the strat manager now to better deal with that side of things.|||I was thinking of a Less round AI (perhaps red and spikey:).

Sorian mentioned in another thread that the stock AI's tend to follow a rigid build order and that disrupting that order would severely retard the AI's growth.

I can think of one example off the top of my head.

If you spawn near an AI and rush a single AirFac to produce bombers patroling between its starting Mexs, the enemy AI won't build an effective counter and will continue trying to build up in the face of total destruction.

Usually the fastest and simplest way to beat an AI is by spamming one unit, making counters to other units a waste of the enemy AI's resources.

Another example is that AI's tend to build Naval factories either before they gain air or ground superiority around their base.
