The idea goes with Ducane's base assault mod where you go up against an AI, break down its defences and destroy the commander.
Ideally you want the AI to have the pre-built base where you do not, giving him time to fortify it and for you to try and destroy it.

Is the turtle AI kind of like that? In my AI fixes I have made some improvements to the turtle as well.|||I had deleted your AI pack because of compatibility with another player who doesn't use your AI pack, *shrugs*, however yesterday I did have a go with stock turtle, on Gentleman's reef, it was very pathetic ho it built up its base defences, as I just had 1 cruiser take out pretty much his entire base.
So what I was hoping for was for it to better build defences and more of them to have a "fortress" to break into|||Personally I think you'd need to think more about a scenario map for that sorta thing. Like the single player.|||Well I copied over the Supreme Art Of Defence map from Vanilla, generally only getting to level 7 before I get crushed.
You may be right though Relentless a scenario map, but wuld still need an Ai that would rebuild or to even defend its base on such a map|||Grogyan|||That base assault mod does seem more like it.
Where does the predefined base come from? is it a template or something else? Could you customize it for specific maps?|||The mod has unit lists for various map sizes and adds naval units on island maps. It would be easy to add map specific ones, but I wanted to make it work on all maps.|||So lets say if in a couple of versions time (I know I should probably ask this in the mod thread) you could have a base template for say fields of isis that puts alot of defense structures in the gateway to the base? or even in the middle of the map? That would be a base crackers heaven..it would be like an art of defence style map mod...but reversed.
I always used to be impressed how the ai knew where to rebuild its defense structures in the single player game.|||I did have another go with using turtle on a land map with the mod, though I fell asleep 10 minutes in, when I woke up, there were like 7 FatBoys heading towards my base, and I didn't have an experimental up.

At least a turtle sometimes goes out of its shell to snap at you. But a fortress would be a massive bastion that would be very difficult to breach. It'd likely use huge numbers of shields.|||I like name "Fortress AI". Anyone interesting in see that kind of AI? I think I can put something together.....|||Absolutely.

thanks a bunch Ducane|||duncane|||It still produces quite a few land units... let me know if it needs reducing.|||Well, I just finished my first game against Fortress AI (Comet catcher, UEF (me) against Aeon.
AI was sending some t1 units across the map (t1 engineers) with some aurora tanks, mostly for capturing mass points. He set up some small bases, and was making t1 units. His main base was not fortified, about 4-5 t1 static defenses (this was after 50 minutes of game play). He was making GC at the end of the game.
Is this Fortress AI map specific? Should I allow cheat options for him?|||All AIs are map specific; if the AI markers are not placed well by the map maker AIs can behave very strangely.|||datomasSC|||duncane|||I cant see anyway it could of built an experimental...
